06/30/04  -  Over 700 spectators Attend Training Session
Over 700 spectators came to watch the first training session of the season at the "Mehrkampfanlage" behind "AWD Arena". In addition to the players scheduled to be there, four new players were introduced (see photo): Frank Juric, Roman Wallner, Leandro Fonseca, Michael Tarnat (Tranquillo Barnetta was absent because he had an exam). Roman Wallner scored the first goal of the day, when the A-team played against the B-team (2:0). The new jerseys of the upcoming season were presented as well (coming soon in our online shop).

The team is now in the training camp in Norden. The US Internationals, Clint Mathis and Steven Cherundolo are expected to be back at practice on the 13th of July while the Canadian international Julian de Guzman should arrive a bit week earlier on the 7th.

 06/29/04  -  Juric signs with 96
Frank Juric, the fifth new player for the Reds was presented at training. The former second team goalkeeper from Bayer Leverkusen has signed a two year contract with Hannover 96.

After Gerry Tremmel left for Hertha BSC Berlin, 96 has now a new alternative in goal. The Craot Frank Juric (1,96 m, 95 kg) played eleven games for Leverkusen last year. These days a decision will be made, if Marc Ziegler stays at the Reds, or a new number one will be signed.

Today at 15:30 PM the the first trainingsession of the new season at the "Mehrkampfanlage" starts.

 06/28/04  -  Wallner signs with Hannover
The 22 year old Austrian forward, who is coming from the Austrian club Rapid Wien, has signed today a contract for four years with 96. Roman Wallner is a big talent with offensive skills.

In the year 2001 he was "Soccerplayer of the year" in Austria and has also made 18 international appearances for the Austrian National team. In the Austrian league he played 134 games and scored 42nd times. All the best to Roman Wallner with 96.

 06/26/04  -  Leandro Fonseca signs with Hannover
The Brasisilian Leandro Fonseca (29) from the Swiss club Young Boys Bern has signed a contract for three years with the reds. The forward played in the Bundesliga at SSV Ulm (99/00), where he played 25 games and has scored three times. At the Young Boys Bern he was playing as a forward with Stephane Chapuisat and did 33 scorer points (17 goals, 16 assists).

96 Manager Ilja Kaenzig said: "His strength are his speed and his technical skills, he is an excellent player for counter attacks". We are glad to say "Welcome to Hannover".

 06/25/04  -  Barnetta signs with Hannover
The 19 year old Swiss international signed a two year contract with Hannover 96. He is on a loan from Bayer Leverkusen.

Tranquillo Barnetta is coming from the swiss club FC St. Gallen, where he played 18 season games and scored 2 goals. The young midfield talent (1,77 m) is very powerful on the right and the left wings. Good luck to Tranquillo Barnetta with the Reds...!!!

 06/25/04  -  Konstantinidis signs with Cologne
The relegated Bundesliga club 1. FC Köln has signed former Hannover 96 defender Kostas Konstantinidis. The 31 year old Greek got a one year contract. In the case of promotion into the Bundesliga next season, his contract will be extended through 2006. The change doesn't involve any transfer fee.

Kostas Konstantinidis played at Hertha BSC Berlin for three years (1999-2002) and Hannover 96 for two (2002-2004). He has seen action in 91 Bundesliga games and has scored 5 times (at Hannover 43 games and 3 goals). He has also made 40 international appearances for the Greek National team. Good luck to Kostas Konstantinidis in Cologne.

 06/19/04  -  Brdaric signs with Wolfsburg
Hannover 96 forward Thomas Brdaric is playing in the next Bundesliga season for Vfl Wolfsburg. He will sign a contract for 3 years when he is back from the Euro 2004. Good luck to Thomas Brdaric.

 06/17/04  -  Tarnat signs with Hannover
The former Bayern Munich player and 2001 Champions League winner is now officially one of the Reds. The 34 year old midfielder, who came from Manchester City, signed a two year contract after passing his physical yesterday.

Michael Tarnat was born on the 27th October 1969 in Hilden and began his carrer at SV Hilden-Nord. He made his Bundesliga premiere in 1991 for MSV Duisburg and later played with Karlsruhe SC.

From 1997 to 2003 he played at FC Bayern Munich and has been part of four Bundesliga Championship teams and 4 German Cups winners (DFB-Pokal). In 2001 he won the Champions League with Bayern and was part of the German national team (He's made 19 international appearances for Germany).

Last year he left Munich for the Premiership club Manchester City, where he played 32 games and scored three goals.

 06/16/04  -  Schinner is a pro now
Markus Schinner, who played at the Hannover 96 amateurs, signed a contract for 2 years as a pro. The 23 year old is playing in the defense on the left position.
